چکیده

The propagation of guided waves in free standing (1 − x)Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3–xPbTiO3 [PMN–xPT] (x = 0.29 or 0.33) single crystal plates has been studied theoretically. The polar directions are in the 〈111〉 family directions of the cubic reference coordinates but the crystals are being polarized along [0 0 1]c, [0 1 1]c and [1 1 1]c of the cubic reference directions so that the effective microscopic symmetries are 4mm, mm2 and 3m, respectively. Multiple mode couplings appear in the dispersion curves for both the symmetric and the antisymmetric Lamb and shear horizontal modes. The velocities of most guided waves decrease rapidly with frequency. Then, after passing a minimum, they begin to increase with frequency and eventually saturate to the shear wave velocity vsz (or v1 = 3507 m s−1 for [1 1 1]c polarized sample). For a [1 1 1]c polarized single domain PMN–0.33PT sample, the S1 mode instead of the S0 mode approaches the Rayleigh velocity vR at high frequencies. Energy-storage properties and high-temperature dielectric relaxation behaviors of relaxor ferroelectric Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3–PbTiO3 ceramics

1 − x)Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3−xPbTiO3 (x = 0, 5, and 10 mol%) ceramics were prepared using a conventional mixed oxide solid state reaction method. The low-temperature relaxor behavior of (1 − x)Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3–xPbTiO3 ceramics were examined in the temperature range from 120 to 523 K. A broad dielectric maximum that shifted to higher temperatures with increasing frequency, signified the relaxor-type b...

Zr-Modified Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 with a Long-Range Cation Order

The 1:1 structural order and B-site cation order in Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 ceramics was significantly enhanced by Zr4+ substituting Nb5+ according to the chemical formula Pb(Mg1/ 3Zr2x/3Nb2(1−x)/3)O3−x/3. The enhanced structural and cation order was revealed by both X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. The increased charge difference and the introduced oxygen vacancies were suggest...

Evolution of nanodomains during the electric-field-induced relaxor to normal ferroelectric phase transition in a Sc-doped Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 ceramic

Sc doping in Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 enhances the B-site 1:1 cation order significantly but promotes the ferroelectric polar order moderately. At low doping levels, the electrical polar domains remain at the nanometer scale and the relaxor ferroelectric behavior is preserved. A normal ferroelectric state can be triggered with electric fields from the relaxor state at lower temperatures. This electric-...

Determination of the ordered structures of Pb„Mg1/3Nb2/3...O3 and Ba„Mg1/3Nb2/3...O3 by atomic-resolution Z-contrast imaging

The atomic structure of ordered domains in Ba~Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 and La-doped and undoped Pb~Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 is studied by high-resolution Z-contrast imaging. The ordered domain structure in both doped and undoped Pb~Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 is determined to be in agreement with the charge balanced random-layer model and inconsistent with the space-charge model. It is shown that La doping in Pb~Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 enh...

Direct observations of electric field-induced domain boundary cracking in Š001‹ oriented piezoelectric Pb„Mg1Õ3Nb2Õ3...O3–PbTiO3 single crystal

In situ transmission electron microscopy study of electric field-induced cracking has been conducted on ^001& oriented 0.65Pb~Mg1/3Nb2/3!O3 – 0.35PbTiO3 crystal. Fracture of the 90° domain boundary was directly observed in the tetragonal area under both static and alternating electric fields. The field strength required to induce domain boundary cracking was lower for alternating electric field...
